Well, time is flying by in 2020 and it’s already almost time for the Summer Earthlove Box to start shipping! (They begin shipping on June 15th and I literally Can. Not. Wait.) If you are not signed up, I think the summer box is going to be an awesome one to get based on a few spoilers I’ve seen!
The Spring Box is long gone, unfortunately for you, BUT, you can still get some of the items in Build Your Own Box and the Mother’s Day Limited Edition Box.
And of course, if you really want something specific from the Spring Box I’m showing you today, I encourage you to go straight to the company that makes the product!
The very best part about an earth-friendly subscription box like Earthlove is that you are introduced to some seriously awesome companies. The businesses whose products are included in the Earthlove boxes have all been vetted by Serina Patterson, the founder of Earthlove.
What’s in the Earthlove Box?
In every seasonal subscription box, you will get 6-8 full-sized products. (My last two boxes have actually contained more than that, though.) Items include an assortment of things like cosmetics, accessories, snacks, a book, skincare, apparel, and more.
All the items in your box are focused around helping you live a healthier and more earth-friendly lifestyle. You’ll find that the products in your Earthlove box are all made with non-toxic, sustainable ingredients and are packaged minimally and using compostable and zero waste materials.
Even the box itself is packed with paper-based tape, items inside are protected with crinkle-cut paper, and the information book inside is printed responsibly.

So, let’s look at all the goodies that are in the Spring 2020 Earthlove box!

Sleep Well Lotion by Scentuals
Made with organic ingredients and packaged in a recyclable or reusable metal pump, this lotion is sooo yummy-smelling. Kind of like a warm, toned-down combo of lavender and vanilla. It is very thick and emollient, making it perfect to use on dry hands and cuticles or feet as you’re climbing into bed for the night. Mine has a permanent home on my bedside table right now. I’m rationing it because I don’t want it to run out! It’s that good.
The sleep lotion retails for $17.21 if you buy it directly from the Scentuals website.

Stationery Set by Papercraft Miracles
The label above in the photo says a lot about how cool this stationery is. It is handcrafted in Buffalo, New York. The stationery is made from junk mail, cut grass, fabric scraps, and/or hole punches. The sheets of stationery are thick and full of delicious texture. Anyone who is a lover of gorgeous paper will appreciate the beauty and high quality of this set.
This set of stationery retails for $16.

Bamboo Toilet Paper by REEL
Ok, so I admit that this item got me wildly excited. It arrived in March, just as the pandemic was showing itself in the US and people had been panic-buying all the toilet paper. So although this retails for only $1.25, it kind of felt like I won the lottery when I saw this!
Kidding aside, I really liked this TP. It was my first time trying bamboo toilet paper, and it was very nice. Plenty soft, and notably strong. A little goes a longer way than regular commercial TP. On top of that, Reel’s toilet paper is biodegradable, dye-free, plastic-free, and tested safe for septics.
Reel is a great option if you, like me, have been looking for a more sustainable toilet paper option but not ready to commit to the idea of using reusable cloth instead. Like most of the products included in the Earthlove box, Reel provided a special discount code for Earthlovers that can be used on a single purchase or a subscription.

Thai Lime Sage Deodorant by Unearth Malee
I was pretty thrilled to see a natural deodorant in my Earthlove box. I’ve been looking for something to replace the Schmidt’s I’ve been using, so it was perfect timing. If you haven’t looked into the dangers of mainstream, aluminum deodorants, you need to do some research. Future post is in the works, which I will be sure to link to here.
This deo is aluminum-free, contains all organic and non-toxic ingredients, and even comes in a compostable cardboard tube. The smell is pleasant and fresh, not at all over-powering. I found it super soothing, too, after my battle with a bad rash from the baking soda in Schmidt’s-ouch! Thai Lime Sage is one of a few different scents that the company offers for $10, which is the going rate for a quality, natural deodorant.

Chocolate Bar by Supah Stah
This chocolate bar was unlike any other I’ve had. It was the perfect combination of smooth dark chocolate and sweetness with bits of mulberry throughout. I love that the bar is vegan, too, since I’m avoiding dairy as much as possible.
But the appeal goes much farther than first impressions. Supah Stah cocoa is sustainably harvested from wild grown crops in Ecuador. Because it’s wild-propagated, this chocolate has a higher nutrient and mineral content than other chocolate you can buy in stores.
The company is even sure to use a compostable wrapper to preserve their bars, making the whole deal something you can feel good about. And I did feel good about eating that chocolate bar. Yum! You can buy one of your own from Supah Stah for $6.

Meliora Laundry Powder, wooden scoop, & Stain Stick by Meliora
If you’ve been around the zero-waste scene awhile, you’ve probably heard of Meliora cleaning products. They are one of the few brands that makes products that are both zero-waste AND made with non-toxic ingredients.
The laundry powder comes in a metal can with a wooden scoop. The formulation is fragrance-free, dye-free, palm oil-free, preservative-free, and brightener-free. We have a lot of allergies and skin sensitivities in our home, and it has caused no problems for any of us.
I’ve been using Meliora powder in our front loader washer and I’ve been very happy with it. Everything gets nice and clean and fresh, even the stinky, grimy stuff from my teen boys.
The laundry stick is easy to use, and I’ve found it to be very effective at removing your run-of-the-mill stains. To use it, you just dampen the area on and around the stain and then rub the stick into the stain.
If you are still using a spray laundry stain treatment in a plastic bottle (guilty!) then this is a fantastic zero-waste laundry swap for you. I’m sold.

Belabands Set by Dona Bela Shreds
This set of two super cute Belabands is one of my favorite things in this box! The company, Dona Bela Shreds, sources leftover scraps from large textile manufacturers around the world. Belabands are then upcycled from these scraps.
You can wear your band as a headband, as a scrunchie, or around your neck as a pop of color and personality. Belabands are handmade in the USA, and retail for $14 on the company website.

Tea Assortment by Hobbs Tea
This was a new tea brand for me, and definitely one to patronize if you’re a tea lover. Hobbs tea is quality whole leaf tea grown and handcrafted in Hawaii.
Each tea bag is filled by hand and is made from 100% plant-based fibers that are compostable and biodegradable. Most commercial tea bags use either bleached paper or non-biodegradable plastic fibers, neither of which are good for the environment. Hobbs tea is a solid choice for those looking for a sustainable and zero waste pre-bagged whole leaf tea.
The tea assortment in the Earthlove box included 4 types of tea: white, green, oolong, and black. All delicious and smooth. Each tea bag brews up to 7 cups of tea. One of the advantages of using whole leaf tea is that the tea can be reused several times to make multiple cups of tea. Who knew?

Formula N°9 Moonstone Perfume by Baiser Beauty
Though the name labels this a perfume, you should know that it is comprised entirely of essential oils in a jojoba oil base. To me, and maybe to you, too, this is an important difference. The essential oils include bergamot, coriander, neroli, jasmine, and rose. There is also a small chip of rose quartz inside the rollerball bottle.
I avoid perfumes at all costs because of allergies and chemical sensitivities, but this blend of oils is not only tolerable for me, but is surprisingly lovely and uplifting. The company states that this blend will support balanced emotions and can also be used for meditation. Rose quartz is know for promoting love, specifically self-love, self-discovery, and self-acceptance.
This is not something I would have ever purchased on my own, but after using it for a month or so, I have definitely fallen in love with it. Moonstone Perfume retails for $65, but Earthlovers get 40% off their first order.

Moodtopia by Sara-Chana Silverstein
This book is packed with helpful information if you want to look into natural ways to balance your mood. The author, a master herbalist and homeopath, shares personal experiences as a mom of 7, and how she used herbal remedies to improve her life.
There are also plenty of examples from women who the author has helped over the years, with specific herbs that she has used to treat specific problems. If herbs are something you’ve considered adding to your health routine, this book will give you some very clear places to start.
Moodtopia includes a large section on mental health strategies that can help when you are struggling, whether it’s with anxiety, handling stress, overwhelm, or mood swings. Concepts covered include things like visualization exercises, manipulating your environment to support positive feelings, aroma therapy, and color therapy. There is also a 90-day program for better moods.
This book is seriously awesome. I have to admit that when I first started my Earthlove box subscription, I didn’t love the idea of a book being included. Physical paper books seemed to be anti- my zero waste goals. After 2 boxes, though, I can tell you for certain that Serina from Earthlove isn’t just throwing any old book in her boxes. You are sure to receive a book that is a resource, something that you will refer to time and time again. And that’s definitely true of Moodtopia.

The seasonal subscription box ships quarterly in March, June, September, and December. You can choose either a fully vegan box or a beegan box that may contain ethically-sourced bee byproducts. A seasonal box is $59.95. The actual total product value of this Spring 2020 box is $174, making this an excellent deal. But I believe the very best part about the Earthlove subscription box is discovering and supporting businesses that are doing good for the environment.
Here’s my LOVETHEEARTH coupon for $5 off your Earthlove subscription box! Treat yourself! I know you’ll love it as much as I do.
