A little about me…
I’m Natalie, mom to five busy kids, ranging in age from 1 to 20, and wife to one busy husband. I am a speech-language pathologist and love working with preschoolers who have special needs, but for the time being, I am focusing my time on taking care of this family of mine. My hobbies are running, sewing, crochet, gardening, chicken-keeping, and web design. However, I don’t have loads of time for those things. Instead, I spend much of my time cleaning, shuttling children, doing laundry, and grocery shopping. Sigh.
A little about Full Green Life…
When you have 7 people in your household, everything happens on a larger scale–shopping, cooking, laundry, budgeting, disciplining, cleaning, traveling…seriously, everything. I have always tried to recycle and limit toxins in my home. As my family has grown, it is easy to see that anything we do has an even bigger effect, positive or negative, simply due to the sheer number of us. I believe it is my responsibility to raise my kids with a sense of duty to the Earth that is bigger than their immediate environment and an appreciation of the impact each of us has.
I also am very motivated to reduce my family’s exposure to toxins in our everyday lives. We, like many other families, have been touched by cancer numerous times through our family and dear friends. By limiting toxins in our food and environment as much as possible, we are doing what is in our control to live as healthfully as possible, and hopefully, stack some of the odds in our favor.
Because parenting is overwhelming enough without stressing about toxins and going zero waste, my goal is to share the things that work for our busy family without costing me a fortune or a ridiculous amount of time. At Full Green Life, you will find practical ways to green up and detoxify your daily life. I also can’t help but mix in lots of parenting nuggets that will be helpful to anyone raising a family.
